Welcome to the Bear Den 5
Third Grade
or 8-9 Yrs
Den Leader
Alton Brightwell
Our Goals In the Bear Den, there are four general achievement groups: God, Country, Family, and Self. There are 120 achievement tasks and your Bear Cub must earn a certain number of achievements in each of the four groups to earn his Bear Badge. This is the year your son will grow in amazing ways. After earning their Bear Badge, the scout may earn arrow points by completing additional achievement tasks.
Summary Much of the advancement for the Bear rank is done by the scout with his family outside of the den. The parent signs off in the scout's handbook and the Den Leader records the advancements from the handbook in our tracking Software. The Bear program relies heavily on family involvement, but you will see this gradually change with the scout doing more with his den and more individual direction as he graduates to Webelos.
Ready to join? Then you probably have some questions. Email the Den Leader at the link above and leave your phone number and we will get back with you as soon as possible.

First Den7 Meeting - Oct 12
We currently have 23 third Graders on our rolls. This creates the need to start a second den of Bear Cubs that will meet on a night that is convenient for the parents. We are also seeking a Den Leader and an Assistant Den leader for the boys.
The first den is comprised of nine boys who primarily meet after school on a Monday in the library. The second den will meet on a weeknight of choice and probably starting at 6:30 or 7:00pm. If your son is not meeting after school please try and make the first meeting which will be held Wednesday, October 10th at 7pm. The purpose of this meeting is to see when everyone can meet and to express the need for some quality leaders for these boys.
We hope to see all of you on Wednesday! |
